Not-totally-French-existentialist RON HOUSE (GREAT PLAINS, THOMAS JEFFERSON SLAVE APARTMENTS, PSANDWICH) teams up with eater-of-the-free-chicken-of-Bob-Petric JARED PHILLIPS (TIMES NEW VIKING) to hit all the lo-fi indie-punk buttons of The Columbus Sound—loose, clever, catchy, intense, and wrong. Second pressing with new printed sleeves.

RECOMMENDED

It’s Jared Phillips from Times New Viking backing up Ron House on vocals. If you’re not sold on that, then I can’t help you, but the two of them comport themselves with taste and the expected grasp on post-punk history and interesting instrumentals, driven in circular circuits of maddening familiarity to The Fall and Alternative TV. Ron croons “do you know anyone with a computer?” and I once again am convinced that he is the hidden secret genius of our times. Everything about this record and the music within (Phillips’ first post-TNV outlet, where his ideas run with of an arty complexity and smarmy folk demeanor that really suits his personality) is most highly recommended
